In spite of the present financial situation, Belgian auctions are reporting an increase in sales of fresh fruit and vegetables, as consumers go back to the kitchen. In Flanders, among fruit and vegetable specialists, fear of the current global economic crisis appears to be virtually non-existent. It seems that Belgian consumers, like those of many nations, are beginning to see again the practical and economic sense of cooking at home, leading to higher overall sales of fresh products.
