While some confusion remains as to the volume of early varieties set to come out of New Zealand, stock levels on European markets will need to be observed closely. APPLEMAX European export manager Alex Schenz is calling on the New Zealand topf ruit industry to remain vigilant when sending apples to Europe this season in order to avoid a repeat of last season, when an oversupplied market caused a collapse in returns to the country's producers. This time around, European stock levels still have the potential to upset the apple cart, making it all the more important that fruit is sent only if a guaranteed client has already been secured.
