Maria Cavit of the World Union Of Wholesale Markets looks back on a year of improvement and redevelopment for the wholesale sector. Looking back over the past year, it is fair to say that food markets around the world, and especially in Europe, have increased their effectiveness within the distribution chain in a number of ways. As well as increasing the promotion and sustainable provision of fresh, tasty and good quality products, many markets have been modernised to match our competitors' facilities. New structures like the state-of-the-art, modern and independent logisticscentre and laboratory service now provided by HQL at the wholesale market in Hamburg will benefit consumers and businesses for years to come.
