The country is proving to be a reliable source of melons and watermelons throughout the entire winter period. SWITCHING supply sources has provided a real boost to Solfruit's melon business, according to managing director Peter Bouman. Three years ago, the Barendrecht-based importer introduced Ecuador as a source, replacing Brazil between the months of September and January, which has led to watermelons becoming one of the firm's main lines.
