In the second of two articles for Eurofruit Magazine, international wholesale markets specialist Marco Sibani considers how Italian markets can safeguard their position within the fresh produce industry for years to come. EVERY single wholesale marketin Italy is looking closely and carefully at how to increase its sales, above all by considering the quality of products and associated services. With a greater focus on food safety as well as a full re-evaluation of their position in the supply chain,many of Italy's markets are emerging as important fresh produce hubs, harnessing their knowledge of the local supply base in order to bring high-quality production into contact with European and global markets.
