BCP Certis is working to extend Integrated Pest Management in strawberry crops across Europe, says development manager Clare Sampson. Having developed successful, cost-effective Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programmes for use in UK glasshouse strawberries, BCP Certis is leading a pan European project focusing on extending and adapting these for tunnel grown crops in the UK, France and Spain. IPM makes the best use of biological control agents such as predators, parasitoids and biopesticides together with selective use of compatible pesticides applied at threshold levels.
