On 11th January 2016 the Holsworthy Branch hosted a lecture, the last in this season's series, by Dr Jerry Tallowin on the topic of The Potential for Widespread Creation of Bee Friendly Grassland. Dr Tallowin is a research fellow, now semi-retired, atthe North Wyke Research Farm, a part of the Rothamsted Research Institute. He has published over 70 academic papers and has enormous experience as an agricultural-ecologist not only in this country but across Europe, most recently looking at the possibility of using grasslands for long-term carbon capture. He is also a lapsed beekeeper!
