摘要

Synaptosomal-associated protein of 25 kDa (SNAP-25) plays an important role in presynaptic neurotransmitter release. SNAP-25 has an integral role in synaptic transmission. The gene expression of SNAP-25 in the prefrontal cortex of the spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR), an animal model of ADHD, is decreased. The repeated injection of D-AMP improves this defect. SNAP-25 makes children susceptible to ADHD. The association of ADHD and SNAP-25 is confirmed in several datasets and populations. This gene is also candidate for other psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia. Moreover, the exposing of maternal mouse to lead reduces the expression of SNAP-25 in the hippocampus of mouse pups.
