Mettler Toledo has launched a revised version of its quality assurance software."FreeWeigh.Net V5"enables better monitoring of filling procedures.If a discrepancy in quality is diagnosed during production,warning alerts are given in the form of visual and acoustic signals.This is made possible by digital I/O components which display events and alarms and can be directly linked over the modular Ethernet system.Electrical contacts are used to trigger the messages by means of these signals-either by light installations or alarm horns.Automated prompts to take samples and other improvements in operation and linking to in-process devices complete the software version.The built-in adjustment algorithm can also be connected to the filling machine directly by way of the field bus controller.As soon as the algorithm detects that the filling system needs to be adjusted,an electrical signal is output over the interface.
