摘要

Duplex stainless grades are becoming quite popular among stainless steels for their attractive combination of properties. They are increasingly being used as structural materials in building and architecture because of the combination of high strength and corrosion resistance. The advantages of using duplex stainless steel in place of normal mild steel for girders of bridges in corrosive regions have been elucidated in this paper. The special cares necessary for fabrication with duplex grades have also been briefly touched upon.
