摘要

The behaviour of iron introduced into molybdenum phosphate glass and its effect on the structure of the glass has been studied using the Mossbauer effect (ME) and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). The results of the glasses containing from 2.5 to 15 mol percent Fe_2O_3 indicated that iron is present in the glass in the form of: Fe(3+)(T), Fe(3+)(O) and Fe2+(O), i.e. in tetrahedral and different octahedral symmetric sites due to the occurrence of two immiscible phases. The relative percentage of iron in different states and site positions has been determined for each glass composition.
