摘要

The formation and stabilization of aggregates has a major influence on numerous biological, chemical and physical processes in soil. Understanding the process of how aggregates are formed and stabilized helps us to understand and predict the retention and movement of gases, water and solutes in soil; the growth, vigour and productivity of plants; and the activity, growth and movement of soil organisms. Hence, much of current soil research on many critical agronomic and environmental issues such as water quality and pollution, carbon (C) sequestration and greenhouse gas emissions relates to aggregate formation and stabilization.
