摘要

The study was conducted to evaluate the poultry management errors of farmers in two local government areas of Borno, Nigeria. The study was performed in Maiduguri and Jere, Borno, Nigeria. 40 open ended questionnaires were given to farmers. The questionnaire was consisted of two parts: Part A was about the background information of the farmer and the profile of the farms, while Part B examined the management practices in the farms. 32(80%) of the 40 questionnaires were completed and returned by the farmers. Results of the survey revealed evidences of poultry management errors among farmers in the studied areas. The errors included feeding regimen, types of roofing materials used in the construction of poultry houses which was not the recommended corrugated iron sheet and asbestos which could reduce the heat in the poultry houses, and the use of sawdust and barred floor without chopped wood.
