摘要

The 41st A.G.M. took place at the Field Studies Council's Blencathra Field Centre, a few miles east of Keswick in glorious Cumbria. The Centre, once a TB sanatorium, sits on the slopes of Blease Fell above the village of Threlkeld and has stunning views over Clough Head and High Seat, and beyond. Our visit coincided with the driest year (so far) since 1929. One of the two springs supplying the Centre had given up the ghost and the other was struggling. We were, as a result, drinking bottled water and encouraged not to wash excessively during the weekend!
