摘要

We appreciate the insights provided by Schlomm and Adam [1]. Schlomm is a highly experienced prostate cancer surgeon who has made many important contributions to improve outcomes following radical prostatectomy (RP). The authors present one of the limitations of our study [2], which is the lack of a concurrent control, although they appropriately question whether the control should be age-matched men without cancer or men with localized prostate cancer on active surveillance. We appreciate that Schlomm and Adam recognize the challenges of conducting a long-term prospective outcomes study of men following RP and that adding a control cohort would not really be feasible.
