US Lanxess is expanding its hexandediol (HDO) production at Uerdingen,Germany for the worldwide market.The expansion will increase capacity by about 15% at the beginning of 2007.Lanxess identifies strong growth potential in this sector of the market.'With this investment we are responding to the growth opportunities offered by the market',says Wolfgang Schaefer,marketing manager for polyols and oxidation products in the business unit Basic Chemicals.'Backwards integration and the infrastructure of the Uerdingen-based hexanediol plant offer an ideal basis.'
