Many parts of the UK have, potentially, Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) hazards - a legacy from World War! and II in the form of ordnance dropped from planes. Bombing was generally concentrated on the commercial and industrial centres of East London, the home counties, the south west, Scotland, the north east, and the Midlands. Ammunitions have also been found on: (1) troop staging, training and accommodation areas; (2) home defence facilities and auxiliary forces stores; (3) minefield and defence lines; (4) storage and dumping areas; (5) former government or commercial facilities used to produce ordnance; (6) former and current Ministry of Defence and supply land.
