In early 1994, Ira Geer invited Joe Moran to spend his upcoming sabbatical with the AMS Education Program in Washington, D.C. Moran accepted the offer and says his life has not been the same since. Much of Joe's one-year appointment was spent helpingto prepare a National Science Foundation (NSF) proposal and develop learning materials for the teacher-enhancement course, DataStreme (now known as DataStreme Atmosphere). NSF funded the proposal and they were off and running.
