摘要

The high velocity gas injection system CARBOJET~R is a new process which can be adapted to heat treatment furnaces with or without fan. By means of CFD calculation method a better understanding of the protective gas circulation in roller hearth and pit furnaces could be achieved. The nozzle design for the particular application used could be optimised as well. Depending on the case of operation different advantages can be shown which generate economical benefits or progress in quality. According to the estimation of cost savings up to several 100,000 EUR/a and furnace can be gained. In general the consumption of protective gas keeps unchanged when this processes is applied. Further possibilities of application such as for belt furnaces are in the test stage.
