Experimental data are presented for the convective heat transfer from thermistors of circular disk geometry and with an imposed heat flux. Some studies have been done for isothermal disks but not for the imposed heat flux case which is more practical for many applications including electronic component cooling. The use of self-heated thermistors to indirectly measure convective heat transfer coefficients is unique and quite different from the classical method of mounting multiple heat patches and several temperature sensors on the surface of a heat transfer model. From this experimental data, a dimensionless correlation is obtained for this important geometry at any arbitrary angle of inclination for several orders of magnitude of the modified Rayleigh number.
