HENRY Drilling & Pump Inc has been a family drilling business working in the Nashville area since 1945. In 1980 Michael Henry went to a geothermal school at Ohio State University to learn about drilling and installing geothermal systems. "I never wanted to be in the heating and air-conditioning business," says Mr Henry, "but you have to do what you need to do." The geothermal process is basically running glycol antifreeze solution through plastic coils installed in the ground (which remains a constant 60 F). A geothermal system works less to turn the temped climate of the ground to a comfortable 70 F than a traditional forced air system; hence, using less energy.
