In the February 2001 issue of geoDrilling International (page 14), widely experienced Australian drilling consultant Jervis Sparks reported on a minerals exploration drilling programme being carried out in Vietnam by Tiberon Minerals of Calgary Canada By December 2001, Tiberon Minerals had completed this, the largest wire-Tine drill programme ever in Vietnam. Jervis now reports: At the resumption of the drilling programme in March 2001 I was recalled to continue drill training and manage the drilling side of the project for Tiberon Minerals. This phase of the project involved infill drilling, using the same two LY38s and two LY34s, all wireline, operated by the Vietnamese drilling contractor DMTC. That was finished in July (7,500 m) and a new contract for an additional 6,000 m was signed and a fifth drill (LY34) joined the project. By this time it was mid-summer, with daily temperatures in the 40s. By October this contract had been completed, and further delineation drilling continued until 16,500 m were completed in December.
