A US700m scrubber project that produces FGD gypsum at Allegheny Energy's Hatfield's Ferry Power Station in Pennsylvania and a routine maintenance shutdown of one of the plant's three power-generating units are creating noticeable changes in and outside the town.With approval from the state Department of Transportation (DOT),Allegheny Energy is installing a traffic signal on Route 21 at the plant's employee entrance to reduce the traffic congestion caused by the 1000 contract construction workers who enter and leave every day,along with the 170 regular employees.
