摘要

It is widely accepted that seagrass meadows provide abun-dant food and structure for a variety of organisms (see re-views by Hemminga and Duarte 2000, Williams and Heck2001). The seagrasses themselves, epiphytes and macroalgaeconstitute a diverse array of food resources for first-orderconsumers, which in turn fuels a complex and rich foodweb in seagrass meadows (Williams and Heck 2001). En-hanced structure in seagrass meadows is mainly provided bythe canopy of leaf blades and sheaths, drifting macroalgaeand bulky epiphytes (Orth et al. 1984).
