A recent investigation by [TV and location intelligence provider, Groundsure, has revealed that more than half of UK citizens are disturbed by noise, and the number of people complaining about the issue is only increasing. Put simply, noise is often unwanted. Whether it originates from factories and construction sites, road traffic and railways, or merely from neighbours, noise can cause annoyance, impair work performance and in extreme circumstances, contribute to illness. It is estimated that more than 43,000 hospital admissions and 10,000 premature deaths are caused by noise across Europe every year.
