Holcim has been named as one of six cement producers suspected of price fixing by the Brazilian Justice Ministry. The ministry recommended that the country's antitrust authorities fine the companies after it claimed they took part in the cartel.The companies are said to have colluded over prices and production volumes, dividing up the Brazilian market (the largest in South America) and agreeing over action against other competitors not involved in the agreement. Holcim categorically denied any wrongdoing on 11 November 2011, saying that, "it has not engaged in any illicit conduct."
