The cement company's main site was spread over a vast area, with actual manufacturing of cement on one side and storage, blending and packaging on the other side of the plant. That meant that output from the mills had to be carried some 500m through a pneumatic pipeline. Part of the old line was underground, originally installed to avoid an internal access road and had several sharp bends.
