British gear provider David Brown is 150 years old in 2010 and is this year celebrating its rich history of accomplishments, from creating James Bond's iconic Aston Martin DB5, to making gears in tractors, tanks and nuclear submarines as well as gears old and new in cement plants around the world. David Brown Gear Systems is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2010, having been first established back in 1860. Global Cement Magazine took the opportunity to visit the company's headquarters and main manufacturing base in Huddersfield in the north of England, to find out more about the company. Global Cement spoke with Nick Sutherland, former cement plant manager and now customer services manager for the cement industry at David Brown, about the history of the company, its capabilities and its aspirations for the future.
