摘要

Pipelines are one of the most economical ways to transport gas and liquid products - from oil and gas to CO_2 and water. Most of the pipelines that are built or already in use today around the world are steel pipelines. Pipelines should not fail during their entire service life because such failures could lead to human and economic costs. In order to avoid steel pipeline failure, a series of specialised pipeline coatings - including concrete coatings - have been created during the last decades. Concrete coatings are used both in wet environments - offshore, river or lake crossings, and swampy or permafrost areas - and dry environments - on buried pipelines in rocky areas or rugged terrain.
