Texas Industries Inc. (TXI) has struck a deal with its largest shareholder that could allow an outsider to buy a controlling stake in the company. Dallas-based TXI has said that it will remove a rule that restricts how much of the company any single shareholder may own from 1 January 2011. At present, the board has raised the amount a shareholder may hold from 15% to 20%.
