In October 2014 Richard Tomes, joint managing director of PPC's South African business, resigned to'pursue other opportunities.'With his departure, Johan Claassen now leads PPC's South African business. PPC's dispute with its former CEO Ketso Gordhan has also continued. According to local media, PPC's board has accused Gordhan of defamation and has published the circumstances behind his resignation. Initially PPC stated that Gordhan had resigned due to'a difference of opinion' regarding board procedures. However, Gordhan later said that he had lost confidence in the board for not dismissing an executive who was 'undermining company strategy,'with reference to CFO Tryphosa Ramano.
