The production of powdery goods is very difficult without compressed air, as this medium is essential for transport, loosening and/or homogenisation tasks. The 2.3Mt/yr-capacity Lafarge Karsdorf cement plant near to Leipzig, Germany, is a good example of the manifold application of compressed air in the cement industry. More than 50 screw compressors and positive displacement blowers from Aerzener Maschinenfabrik are installed at the plant, helping to ensure a smooth and reliable production process.
