摘要

Ground granulated slag can be combined with Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) to create a blended cement. The use of blended cement in concrete produces a more durable and less permeable concrete that is resistant to corrosion and as such is frequently used for the construction of bridges and coastal features.The reduction in OPC volume provides a cheaper and more environmentally-friendly material with reduced CO2 emissions per tonne of cement. Thermo Scientific's new ARL OPTIM'X WDXRF Spectrometer enables the superior analysis of slag make-up in short time periods and with minute standard deviations and excellent repeatability.
