A new waste heat to power project, on target for completion in September 2013, will see Heatcatcher Ltd, a technology integration company based at the Sussex Innovation Centre in Brighton, East Sussex, install its innovative Heatcatcher System at Steetley Dolomite's Thrislington lime plant near Durham, County Durham. It will be the UK's first low-carbon electricity generator from a lime kiln exhaust. Heatcatcher, founded by Darren Bryant three years ago, has built up a successful waste-heat to power company with the support of its technology and academic partners the University of Brighton, under a two year Knowledge Transfer Partnership programme to develop its unique waste heat to power forecasting model.
