The Chinese cement industry has grown rapidly during the past 20 years from a capacity of 10OMt/yr in 1990 to 1 S50Mt/yr in 2010. Chinese capacity is so large that it represents about 55% of global cement capacity.To keep up with this developing industry, the Chinese central government is speeding up its improvement of technology and manufacturing equipment to make the industry more environmentally-friendly and encourage energy-efficiency,To this end the Chinese central government is encouraging the cement industry to use municipal waste.
