When one talks about tyre protection chains (TPC) most mine managers think about reducing the cost per hour of their tyres. However, as a consequence of fitting TPCs the added weight can increase the fuel consumption of the machine. On the positive side, the improved productivity of the machine, due to better traction, can outweigh this extra cost. Together with active international mining and quarrying companies Pewag Austria (Pewag) was keen to get a clearer picture on this topic. Read on to see the results!
