The 2nd Global CemTrader Conference & Exhibition has successfully taken place in London, UK, with delegates from 22 countries gathering to hear 17 presentations on global cement markets, production trends, shipping, coal and petcoke and on trends in SCMs. Delegates highly praised the event for its excellent networking opportunities. After an informal get-together the night before the conference, delegates gathered at the historic Glazier's Hall on the banks of the River Thames to discuss all aspects of global cement trade and trends. Conference convenor Robert McCaffrey, editor of Global Cement Magazine, likened the perils of doing business in the global cement industry with navigating a boat, dodging rocks, through the fog and in the dark. A certain amount of luck can be useful in such a situation.
