摘要

The purpose of the pallet is to improve storage and product distribution efficiency and to protect the product, and there are several billion of them in use every day throughout the world (see ISO Bulletin, August 2000). The pallet is the base of the unit-load material handling, the fundamental method of transporting, distributing and storing almost all industrial or consumer products; while all three interacting components in this product distribution and storage system, namely, packaging, pallets and handling equipment must all be standardized, the pallet is the key at the interface between the two other components. It serves equally as the interface between the packaged product and the rigours of the production distribution environment, which includes many different vibrations and shocks during truck, rail or air transportation.
