摘要

To be able to choose a person with the competence needed, or for a person to be able to demonstrate specific competencies, the tool of certification under a defined certification scheme seems to be useful. Therefore ISO/CASCO together with IEC decided to establish a new Competence Standard defining the requirements for bodies operating certification of persons. This International Standard contains requirements for certification bodies and for the development and maintenance of certification schemes for persons. It can be used worldwide to promote the exchange of competent persons and the development of compatible certification schemes. If felt useful by the stakeholders, the bodies operating certification of persons might seek accreditation for its operation based on ISO/IEC 17024, and certificates could be recognized worldwide under a MLA (multilateral recognition agreement) of IAF (International Accreditation Forum, Inc.)
