Today,as the aerospace industry gears up to celebrate the 100~th anniversary of powered flight,the world is a far more complex and technologically driven place than the one encountered by Wilber and Orville Wright.We went from Kitty Hawk to the moon in 66 years.Now,significant change is occurring in ever increasingly shorter time spans.The aerospace industry has become a global business,not just from the standpoint of those that use our products,but also as designers and producers of these products.And the world of standards plays a significant role in supporting this change.Like the business of building aerospace products,the business of standards must adapt to meet the demands of a changing environment.To do this,aerospace companies continue to evolve their strategies for the development,management,and use of their standards to successfully respond to and manage change.
