LATEST TRENDS: European Import price trends as reported by correspondents appear to be broadly stable to increasing in relation to September. In the frozen groundfish fillet segment, South American hake prices (US dollar) as well as Atlantic cod prices have increased while saithe prices are stable. Price stability is also reported in flatfish, seabream and seabass markets while European coldwater shrimp prices are unchanged on last month, at least in the UK market. Upward price trends are reported in frozen tuna as well as in frozen squid markets. Exceptions to these trends include Alaska pollock fillets, chilled farmed salmon and frozen lobster, prices for which are reported broadly weaker for October.
