The financial and economic crisis in Europe continues to influence demand. Some species are particularly affected by lower buying interest. These species are mainly those used in the restaurant sector, such as shrimp, cephalopods and lobster. One of the first things that consumers cut out in an economic crisis is eating out, and restaurant sales already report a 25% decline. Holiday travel is also likely to be curtailed, especially during the upcoming Christmas period.
