A bill that would provide Brazil with a regulatory framework for dealing with cloned livestock has languished in that country's Senate Science, Technology, and Innovation Committee (CCT, Portuguese acronym) for 12 years, but a four-committee hearing in September involving Brazil's leading genetic experts may have it back on the approval track.Many in the scientific community had concluded that Bill PLS73/07 was dead, and they would never have the legal framework for proceeding with cloning experiments.
