The Eagle Ford shale in south Texas is one of the most actively drilled resource plays in the USA. It is predominantly calcareous with porosity ranging from 2% to over 15% percent. Two wells in the Eagle Ford formation of south Texas are the subject of this study (Figure 1). Well A, is within the early oil window of the Eagle Ford on the northern edge of the play. Well B, near Hawkville Field, is within the mixed gas/liquid window. Core samples from these two wells were tested using a digital rock physics (DRP) workflow specifically designed for unconventional resources plays.
