There is one thing you can definitely say about Mexico's emerging offshore exploration opportunities for the international oil and service companies: the marine seismic business has got it covered - maybe recklessly so. A flotilla of seismic vessels from virtually all the main geophysical contractors and multi-client specialists is on location. They are mostly shooting 2D focused on areas thought likely to be included in the various licensing initiatives being taken by the Mexican government, either imminently or sometime over the next five years.
