摘要

Bacteriolytic activity of skin extracts of Anguilla japonica were measured using lyophilized Micrococcus lysodeikticus or Listonella anguillarum and correlated with cathepsin B and L activities. The results indicate that, at least under acid conditions, both or either of the cathepsins are associated with defence bacteriolysis of Gram-negative bacteria and are a part of nonspecific immunity of A. japonica skin.
