'We are not looking to explode onto the market but to develop to levels we can support. We are aiming to supply in total about 25 new and used machines a year UK-wide. At this level we can maintain the high standards offered by our well-qualified engineers'. Speaker lain Wilson of Dalbeattie firm Jas P Wilson Forest Machines handles sales of Rottne harvesters and forwarders in the UK. He was commenting on how he views Rottne's role in this tough market-place at a recent demonstration weekend highlighting the range of machines available and, most importantly, their capabilities in a working environment. He expected to welcome up to 100 visitors to Silton Wood, a few miles north east of the Dumfries and Galloway town of Lockerbie, setting chosen to show off the range. Managed by fountains, the conifer forest borders on to the Forestry Commission's Castle O'er Forest and is largely of recent establishment but the western slope of Scoop Hill above the Dryfe Water is of harvestable age.
