Confor was involved in a meeting with FC in England, where some questions from applicants suggested a lack of clarity and understanding when it comes to matters of accuracy requirements. FC England's responses were then put to FC Scotland and NaturalResources Wales (declined), for any variations (shown in brackets).Are grant applicants required to use a GPS tool (Global Positioning System) to measure land area? What level of accuracy are we aiming for?We do not require applicants to provide areas based on GPS data. However, for area-based grants, particularly woodland creation, it is important that areas are measured as accurately as possible. This is because inaccurate assessment of areas can lead to cross-check errors, which can delay payments, and may lead to penalty action.
