摘要

The present study sought to characterize the soils of typical sites in the Flysch region around the Tegernsee and to evaluate their suitability for the growth of European beech. For this purpose 7 soil profiles located in the higher mountain zone were sampled. 3 site factors were taken into consideration while selecting the sample plots in order to allow comparison of beech. vs. conifer-dominated stands, sandy vs. marly substrates and northern vs. southern slopes. Representative soils were analyzed with standard laboratory procedures to determine their chemical and physical characteristics.
