Nottingham-based Torquemeters is to play a key role at a ground-breaking national testing facility that will help to develop the next generation of aerospace engines. The manufacturer of torque-measuring equipment has been chosen by the University of Nottingham to produce a three-shaft test rig for its new ￡5 million gas turbine and transmissions research centre. The rig will enable, researchers to explore a wide range of testing scenarios, and Rolls-Royce is set to be the first customer when the centre opens in April 2018.
